Asus Transformer is a series of 2-in-1 convertibles, detachables and hybrid tablet computers, designed and manufactured by Asus, consisting of three major lineups.

The Asus Transformer Book T100 (also known as T100TA in many markets) is a 2‑in‑1 laptop‑tablet hybrid device sold by Asus. It has a 1.2 MP front‑facing camera. ^[2]

The Transformer Book T100 was first introduced in 2013. It features a detachable keyboard dock, enabling use as either a tablet or a compact laptop. It ships with Windows 8.1, and comes bundled with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013. The device is powered by an Intel Atom Z3740 quad‑core processor operating at approximately 1.33 GHz, with 2 GB RAM and either 32 GB or 64 GB eMMC storage. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot. ^[3]

It has a 10.1‑inch IPS touchscreen display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels, and supports capacitive multi‑touch. ^[4] Connectivity includes micro‑USB, micro‑HDMI, headphone jack, full‑size USB 3.0 port on the keyboard dock, WiFi (dual‑band) and Bluetooth 4.0.

Battery life is claimed by Asus to reach up to 11 hours under typical usage; independent tests find similar or somewhat lower values depending on usage scenario. Charging from empty to full is reported as relatively slow in many reviews. ^{[5] [6]}

The Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi (model T100CHI) is a Windows-based 2-in-1 detachable hybrid tablet developed by Asus and released in early 2015. Part of the "Chi" series, the T100CHI focuses on portability and a premium all-metal design. It serves as a follow-up to the original Transformer Book T100, offering improvements such as a higher-resolution display, upgraded cameras, and a thinner profile.^[9]

The T100CHI features a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920×1200) IPS touchscreen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, offering improved vertical screen real estate compared to typical 16:9 tablets. It is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3775 processor (Bay Trail) with a base clock of 1.46 GHz and burst speed up to 2.39 GHz. The device comes with 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM (soldered) and either 32 GB or 64 GB of eMMC storage, with microSDXC card expansion supported.^[10]

One of the most notable differences from its predecessor is the Bluetooth-based keyboard dock, which attaches magnetically rather than using a physical connector. The keyboard includes a touchpad and must be charged separately via micro USB. The tablet itself lacks a full-size USB port, using micro USB and micro HDMI instead, which may require adapters for some peripherals.^[11]

The device includes a 2 MP front-facing webcam and a 5 MP rear camera with autofocus—an upgrade over the front-only camera on the original T100. Other features include stereo speakers, a dual-microphone array, and a 30 Wh lithium-polymer battery capable of delivering approximately 9–10 hours of real-world usage such as web browsing or media playback.^[12]

Reception of the T100CHI was generally positive. Reviewers praised the high-resolution display, lightweight and premium aluminum design, and solid battery life. However, limitations such as the non-upgradable RAM, lack of a full-size USB port, and separate charging for the keyboard dock were noted as drawbacks. Performance was deemed adequate for basic tasks, but not well-suited for multitasking or heavier productivity use.^[13]

The Transformer Book Duet TD300, was a 13.3-inch tablet computer that was developed by Asus.^[15][16][17] The device used two operating systems interchangeably: Windows 8.1 by Microsoft, and Android 4.1 by Google.^[16][17][18] The device featured a tablet screen and a detachable keyboard.^[15][17][18] The device was reported to be cancelled due to opposition from both Google and Microsoft in mid-March, 2014.^[14]
